QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES, May 26, 2008. IT Group, Inc., an enabler and partner of businesses for service innovation, is proud to announce its successful participation at the recently held GASUL Dealers Association (GDAI) Convention at the Sofitel Plaza Hotel last May 23, 2008.

GDAI is an organization of Petron GASUL dealers across the country. The annual convention, this year titled “Cooking-up the Perfect Recipe” aimed to gather all the national dealers of GASUL so that they can discuss as a group the organization’s current and future plans. Guest Speakers were also invited to talk on the latest trends and opportunities that will impact the LPG distribution industry so as to ensure GDAI members can keep pace with the competition. Guest speakers included renowned speaker Francis Kong—who gave an inspirational and insightful talk on change; and Mr. Angelo Reyes, secretary of the Department of Energy who gave a talk on the challenges being faced today by the petroleum industry and the fole being played by government to address those challenges.

IT Group was invited to talk on the role of Information Technology (IT) and business process automation in the growth plans of businesses. The association aims to implement the automation of its sales, inventory and order management systems among all its members though a partnership with IT Group. Mr. Jan Pabellon, VP for Business Development of IT Group, presented a case study on the automation of customer order handling and back-office businesses process done for one of its members: MetroGas Sales, Inc. Jan shared how the right execution of IT helped MetroGas increase sales, improved operations and enhanced the competitiveness of the company.

IT Group was also invited to give a more detailed talk on computerization and process automation in a break-out session after the plenary. The session was led by Mr. Robert Acuna, IT Group’s VP for Research and Development. He gave a presentation on IT Group’s ComUnion specifically Dealer Management System (DMS). He presented in detail the different features and benefits of the system, highlighting the unique features specifically for LPG distribution. The dealers were able to see how the system works and how it caters to the unique needs of their businesses and were given the chance to ask questions regarding ComUnion DMS.
