QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES, November 12, 2007. IT Group, Inc., an enabler and partner of businesses for service innovation, recently announced that MedPharm, a Guam-based medical supplies and equipment distributor, has tapped IT Group for the implementation of the full ComUnion ERP suite to manage its financial, operational and logistics processes. MedPharm is a fast-growing seller and distributor of pharmaceutical, laboratory, and medical supplies and equipment based out of the Pacific island of Guam. The company serves hospitals and clinics not only in Guam, but in the neighboring islands and territories of Saipan, Palau, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, American Samoa, Nauru, and Fji as well. With the company's fast growth, MedPharm's management realized that their existing homegrown business applications made up of legacy technologies were just not keeping up. The company was not operating at an acceptable level of productivity, because it was hampered by having to go through disparate IT systems. This lack of integration were barriers to achieving MedPharm's goal of increasing competitiveness and increased margins through greater employee productivity. To address these problems, MedPharm tapped IT Group to implement a single, integrated system to manage key business processes of the organization. IT Group implemented its own ERP solution called ComUnion ERP to unify management of the company's sales, supplier management, inventory, and financial processes. By consolidating business processes on a single technology platform through ComUnion, MedPharm aims to achieve greater operational efficiency and effectiveness by allowing its employees a real-time, 360-degree view of critical company information.
